Ung Svensk Form – past, present, future: vhat happened next?
During Stockholm Design Week, Svensk Form and Stockholms Auktionsverk arrange a curated exhibition and auction with works from the design award Ung Svensk Form (Young Swedish Design) and its history. Follow the award since the start in 1998 until today. Ung Svensk Form has always opened a window onto the future. The exhibition gives the answer to the question: What happened next?
Ung Svensk Form is a juried design award for young designers that Svensk Form has organized since 1998. During Stockholm Design Week 2017 Svensk Form and Stockholms Auktionsverk present a retrospective exhibition that highlights the best of the 18 years that have passed since Ung Svensk Form started. The exhibition is also a curated auction where the more part of the works are for sale. The auction starts on Feb 6:th and ends on Feb 13:th.
Which designers have participated and exhibited since 1998? How do they work today? The exhibition showcases nearly 80 designers who have participated in Ung Svensk Form, from the start until this year’s edition – the twelfth: Ung Svensk Form 2017. The audience will meet old and new designers – nominees and jury members. Their works reflect both the time when they won the award and what they do today. We meet, among others, Matti Klenell, Parasto Backman, Thomas Bernstrand, Stina Wirsén, Roland Hjort, Marta Mattsson, Bjorn Kusoffsky, Fredrik Mattson, Ann Wåhlström and Fredrik Färg.
During the opening evening we also offer a first acquaintance with the latest edition of Ung Svensk Form. 2017’s nominees receive their diplomas during the ceremony.
Welcome to Stockholm Auktionsverk and their attractive venue at Nybrogatan in Stockholm and on a design journey from the late 90’s until today!
