Ung Svensk Form / Young Swedish Design has the power and energy to inspire and create change. With skilled craftsmanship and a keen sense of material, we hereby present the latest within young Swedish design. Ung Svensk Form is an annual juried award and a travelling exhibition whose purpose is to broaden and deepen knowledge about young and innovative Swedish design. Ung Svensk Form highlights our desire to create and explore freely, without the need for market adaptation. Ung Svensk Form serves a vital function as a forum for encounters between designers, manufacturers and the general public, and applications are not divided into categories. The reason for this is that we want to stimulate cross-border projects. Scholarships are awarded to designers who have particularly distinguished themselves. The exhibition will tour both in Sweden and internationally. The project was initiated in 1998 by Svensk Form and Form/Design Center in Malmö. Many of our previous participants are now well established in their respective areas. Ung Svensk Form / Young Swedish Design 2020 is a co-production by Svensk Form (The Swedish Society of Crafts and Design), ArkDes, IKEA, IKEA Museum and The City of Malmö.
