När Ung Svensk Form 2017 visades i Seoul i samband med IKEA Democratic Design Days såddes ett frö till en ny designtävling: Korea Sweden Young Design Award. 2019 är det dags för den första tävlingsomgången och i juryn finns flera kopplingar till Ung Svensk Form. Den tidigare Ung Svensk Form-vinnaren Kyuhyung Cho, numera verksam i Seoul, är juryns ordförande.
Flera medlemmar i juryn sitter även i Ung Svensk Form-juryn:

– Petra Lilja, industridesigner, curator och forskare i design
– Tor Lindstrand, arkitekt och delägare på LLP arkitektkontor, lektor på Inredningsarkitektur och Möbeldesign, Konstfack

The award is always centered around innovation, sustainability and a better future. But there’s a special theme each year, too. And this year it’s “inclusiveness”.
“Inclusiveness” means that great design should be available for everyone. Age, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, ethnicity, race or nationality shouldn’t be barriers – all people everywhere have the right to experience and enjoy good design. Inclusive design can help unite us all in friendship and understanding. So this year the inspiration will flow from innovation, sustainability, a better future, and inclusiveness – design for everyone!
